Here at Straight Shot Labradors, we LOVE doing anything that is outdoors, or has to do with animals! We love horseback riding, fishing, camping, hunting, working on vehicles, and ALWAYS playing with puppies! Some of the best days we have spent, are the ones out at the lake with the family and dogs, enjoying the weather. We take a special pride in how our pups are raised in an active, family environment! Everyday, when we wake up, the first thing we do is make sure all our furry family members get their breakfast, and get out to play on the property. Our names are Lee (Dad), Teresa (Mom), Shane (Big Bro), Breaanna (Me), and Aleasha (Lil Sis).
We originally got into breeding, when my Aunt Amy gave us a yellow English Labrador Retriever, who I named "Annie", as a birthday gift. The moment we met her, we fell in love with the breed, and I started researching lines, and methods of training. 10 years later, here we are! Breeding English Labs has become our passion. Although we had originally planned on keeping Annie with us until the end, we had a very nice family contact us, wanting an older female. From everything the family described, we realized Annie would be a perfect fit! Annie is now enjoying her time with a lovely family, and we get pictures of her all the time! We now focus on breeding quality English Labrador Retrievers, so other families can experience the same joy we felt with Annie!
Every single furry friend we have is a family member, as is every pup that we find homes for! We absolutely LOVE receiving pictures of the pups in their new homes, and watching them grow with everyone! We strive to provide the perfect puppy for all families! Some examples of what we are trying to do include, breeding pure lines, with pups that are not only beautiful, but also extremely intelligent and healthy! Every pup is special in its own way. Some make amazing companions. Some are perfect for the avid hunter. Some are amazing service dogs. And others make excellent narcotic dogs! We strive to give you a puppy that has a personality to fit exactly what you are looking for! Not only a best friend, but also a family member, and a protector.
For those of you who have been following us since the beginning, you probably got to know my dad (Lee) very well! Unfortunately, he passed away in March of this year (2025).
We will never forget his devotion and support for us. This is the man who took our love for Labs (specifically Annie at first), and supported me in making it into what it is today! I used to handle the "puppy" end of things. Basically just playing with pups, taking care of them, and training them! Growing up, I was a pretty shy kid. I wasn't a fan of talking on the phone, or meeting new people. At 15, he started asking that I take the phone calls, get online, and speak to the puppy-families. Not only did this teach me soooo much, but it also helped me to become a more confident person! Now, meeting my puppy-families is one of my favorite things! (Aside from raising these cuties of course!)
His encouragement for me learning all I could about the breed, to growing as an individual, is the reason I have a hobby that I love so much! Right down to the technical aspect of researching lines. I can't tell you how many times he went above and beyond for me, and this hobby. I remember finding a wonderful breeder in Ukraine, when I was a young teen. I found a puppy that was just everything I wanted in a future sire. This puppy was Zaro. It took a ton of work of course, but my dad and I imported our first Lab together! It was a learning curve (at the time, I didn't even realize a puppy could fly from another country!) but we did it. And around 6am one day, dad and I were headed to the airport to pick up Zaro. Within just a couple weeks, Zaro and I were preparing for our first show, with dad cheering us on. Dad has been by my side, every step of the way. He may no longer be here in person, but I know he's watching over us, and cheering us on❤️
